Fickle Pickle "I am a Stalker, How about You?" Blogging Party

I must thank Heather, Stephanie and all her helpers for arranging this wonderful event. This event made me realize the significance of blogging more than ever before. We as a people are starving for connections. No matter how close we live to others in our house/condo/apartments we don't know them. Everyone is working so hard to keep life moving, we don't have the time to get to know each other at home or at work. While we can't normally visit with our neighbors at 12 AM we can go online and write about ourselves and to each other. Then we can read and write about each other at any time, night or day. So when 40 people came together tonight they jumped right in, because they already knew so much about each other. They already had a "connection"! Wow. There is a lot of power in this blogging world! I also talked to a couple of mom's who asked questions about babies, birth and parenting. Thes are some of the reasons why I started the "A Child Is Born" community. Amazing evening

I just participated in an amazing hour! A local music pastor, who is amazing in technology, put together an online prayer time. He called it "Praying Backward!". He asked everyone to particpate online, write their prayers in the Chat room and pray for the candidates, their wives and even pray for all their children by names. And all together the 4 candidates have lots of children! Then he asked us all to pray especially for the candidate we were not voting for. A real twist on praying for "our enemies". All you can do when you pray for someone is to turn your heart to them and for them, and of course to the Lord. Really powerful. It was amazing watching the prayers roll at full speed across the screen as there were so many taking time out of their evening to pray. As I said it was an amazing, inspirational hour. Makes me want to keep on praying and that can never hurt!

Moving on

We have had a wonderful blessed weekend. I had my hair done yesterday at a new training school. It turned out very well but it took 5 hours which was too many hours for a short weekend! At least we gained an hour with the change from Daylight Savings Time. But I do hate that it now gets dark so early. We spent the rest of a beautiful Saturday just hanging out (Ben, Leo and I)

Church was wonderful this morning. Andy Stanley spoke on How to be Rich and challenged us to give to others with no thought of credit or reward from those we give to. The credit and rewards will come from the Lord. And when we do give that way, we show that we are truly children of the living God.

Marshall spent the weekend on Daufuskie and was able to fix the Bronco at least well enough to drive it off the property. Timely since the property will probably belong to someone else tomorrow. I spoke to Marshall this evening and he commented that he really was over Daufuskie. He realized this time that nothing ever changes there and that no one has any ambition. Since I was just feeling guilty that I couldn't figure out a way to keep the house, it really was timely! It's not about me being able to do anything anyway...if the Lord doesn't do it, it shouldn't be done.

I am working on some new ideas for a blog...time so stop Daufuskie dreaming I believe.
